Last updated: May 2026. The short version: Grail Guide is a tool for you. We use your data to give you advice, and we don't sell it.
Your account identifier (a phone number if you text us, or an email if you use the web app), the cards you add to your Vault and Scout, the messages you exchange with Grail Guide, and basic usage events (e.g. that a chat or card lookup happened) so we can run and improve the product.
To identify and value your cards, remember your collection and preferences, and give you collector-grade advice. Your collection and chats are used to make Grail Guide's answers to you better. We do not sell your personal data, and we don't share your collection with other users.
Card identification and valuation use third-party services (a card-data provider for prices, and an AI model for reasoning and vision). Card photos and details you share are sent to these providers to answer your request. Market values are reasoned estimates and live comps, not guarantees, and nothing Grail Guide says is financial advice.
If you use Grail Guide over iMessage/SMS, your messages are delivered through our messaging provider. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of all texts, or text "mute" to turn off proactive alerts and recaps while keeping the chat. Message and data rates may apply.
API keys and secrets live only on our servers and are never exposed to your browser. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our managed database provider. No method is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app (Settings → delete), which permanently erases your profile, Vault, Scout, and chat history. Questions? Email daniel@mithrilslabs.com.
